The falsehoods of Democrat vice presidential nominee Tim Walz have been well documented by this site and others, including his most egregious whoppers regarding the telling of his National Guard service, whether he’d served in a combat zone, the circumstances surrounding his retirement, the rank he and the DNC are still claiming he had, etc.
Despite that, there are a lot of so-called journalists out there who have been willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, much like they did with Joe Biden and the numerous lies he’s told over the years about his political and family history.
Incredibly, some reporters have even gone so far as to claim that Donald Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) really should stop talking about Walz’s military career because as a Marine Corps military correspondent, Vance was allegedly “Someone who did not see combat.”

The latest contender for journalistic gaslighter of the year on the subject of Tim Walz is Jacqueline Sweet, a self-described “investigative journalist” whose work has appeared at left-leaning sites like The Intercept, Politico, and Mother Jones.
On the Twitter machine Monday, Sweet suggested that the vast majority of the Walz oppo stuff had been done by “non-credible Minnesota sources who’ve been pushing disinfo and exaggerations about it for years,” calling the bulk of it “amateur hour stuff”:
Idk if people realize 90% of the Walz is a liar stuff is recycled from a small nexus of non-credible Minnesota sources who’ve been pushing disinfo and exaggerations about it for years and are now just laundering it up the chain from influencers to shoddy outlets? You can trace each one back years and it’s amateur hour stuff
Interestingly, the investigative journalist with five publications in her Twitter bio failed to provide any evidence of what she was claiming.
As others pointed out, though, the ultimate messenger on the Tim Walz lies has been none other than Tim Walz himself:
Hilariously, or infuriatingly depending on how you want to look at it, even mainstream media outlets that have documented the various controversies regarding Walz’s statements have been quite charitable about it, including Axios, which described Walz’s falsehoods as “gaffes” and “misstatements.”
As I wrote Tuesday, the gaslighting from the media and their allies on the left is going to get progressively worse between now and Election Day. While we can’t stop it, we must document it in the interest of accuracy and to expose the bad-faith actors like Sweet who are misleading the public for reasons only known to them but which seem pretty obvious to the rest of us.
