Sanders’ Unhinged ‘Onesies’ Moment During RFK Jr. Hearing Had Kennedy, Megyn Kelly, Others Laughing

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had his confirmation hearing before the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday for Secretary of Health and Human Services in the Trump administration.

My colleague Jennifer Oliver O’Connell wrote earlier about some of the questions some on the right might have in regard to questions about abortion. He gave the right answer — that he would serve at the pleasure of the president and would follow Trump’s policies.

But some on the left were definitely losing their minds during the questioning, folks like that socialist from Vermont, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I).

Sanders asked Kennedy if healthcare was a human right, but RFK Jr. wasn’t falling for that one. When he wouldn’t give Sanders what he wanted, Sanders interrupted him and tried to move on.

Kennedy explained that it’s different from free speech, which doesn’t cost anything.

It’s different, because free speech costs nothing. In health care – if you smoke cigs for 20 years, and you get cancer – you are now taking from the pool of resources..-

The government has no requirement, nor should they pay for your healthcare. But that’s what Sanders is trying to go for here. Sanders points to other countries. First, some other nations tax you to death, even more than we do. Some also provide delayed and/or inferior care.

But Sanders wasn’t done. He went off on a crazy rant about baby onesies that were produced by an organization that Kennedy had been involved with that said, “Unvaxxed unafraid” and “No vax, no problem.” But apparently Sanders didn’t know or couldn’t absorb that Kennedy said he was no longer part of the organization or on the board. He just started shrieking his head off. Kennedy started laughing, as did Megyn Kelly, who was sitting behind him in the audience.

“Are you supportive of these onesies?” Sanders screamed.

“I’m supportive of vaccines,” Kennedy calmly replied.

Sanders continued to scream, “Are you supportive of this clothing which is militantly anti-vaccine?”

Kennedy and Kelly started laughing, because it was just so ridiculous. “I’m supportive of vaccines… I want good science.”

Sanders continued to rant about the organization despite Kennedy saying he had no control over it. So how is he supposed to tell anyone anything? Sanders didn’t seem to want to deal with that reality.

People thought it was hilarious and unhinged.

They already had Bernie memes going for the bizarre moment.
