In what was arguably the most odious display of politicization I’ve ever seen in Congress, Democrat members showed exactly who they are throughout President Trump’s speech on Tuesday night. Their obnoxious behavior was a disgrace. Their visceral loathing of Trump was visibly palpable.
In a word, the Democrats dishonored the American people.
Meanwhile, over at CBS, “Late Night” host Stephen Colbert stayed up late— no doubt eagerly so — for a live show on what turned out to be Wednesday morning. Colbert spent his monologue praising Democrat Rep. Al Green (TX) for getting kicked out of the speech for loudly and angrily attacking Trump about everything from “transgender” issues to shipbuilding.

Later in the show, Colbert trotted out former Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg — and the TDS-riddled duo wasted zero time launching into hyperbolic dystopian nonsense about the state of America under Trump.
Colbert kicked off the festivities thusly (emphasis, mine):
[J]ust minutes into the speech, all hell broke loose. Democrats stood up, started booing. Speaker Mike Johnson threatened them with expulsion if they didn’t sit down and ultimately, Johnson called in the sergeant at arms to remove 77-year-old Texas Congressman Al Green.
Now, some people questioned why so much muscle was needed to remove one old man with a cane. But it turns out it was for a serious reason. When security searched him, they found that he smuggled in a spine. Yeah. It’s dangerous. You can’t have that. You can’t have that.
Cute, but what Green actually did was stand up and scream lies at Trump, intentionally trying to disrupt his speech. His behavior didn’t require “spine” — his out-of-order hissy fit disrespected the office of the President of the United States, both chambers of Congress, and the American people.
When Buttigieg came on, Colbert asked (as a set-up, of course) what he thought of the speech, failing to include asking what Buttigieg thought about the Democrats’ disruptive behavior.
Buttiegieg smugly began:
Look, it was classic Trump, right? It was a lot of darkness and a lot of dazzle. But there was very, very little about the things that most affect our lives. I believe politics is about everyday life. It’s about what government can and must do to make our everyday lives better and the biggest issue on people’s minds, the affordability of everyday life, it’s not something that got more than a few seconds of mention in his speech.
“Darkness.”
The only thing Trump talked about that could be considered “dark” was the lack of hope in America under four disastrous years of Biden-Harris rule, and most notably, the intentionally caused illegal alien crisis, which in just six weeks, Team Trump has all but ended.
And to suggest, even if by omission, that millions of illegal aliens — many with criminal backgrounds who committed violent crimes in their country of origin — overrunning cities and small towns across America isn’t something that “most affects” the lives of Americans who live in fear as a result, is arrogant and incredibly out of touch.
Buttigieg continued:
Nor did he mention some of the biggest things in dollar terms that he’s doing. I mean, objectively. The biggest thing that he’s working on his tax cuts for the rich, $5 trillion minimum. No mention in his speech that was what, two hours, I think the longest of its kind ever, right? But it’s always like this, right? It’s always going to be about—they’re going to talk about Greenland and about pronouns and about mice and not about what’s actually going to make our lives better.
Please.
The “tax cuts for the rich” canard has been parroted by Democrats for decades, along with “fair share,” yet the only people who believe the nonsense are likely low-information people who lack the ability or desire to research such false claims on their own.
In one of Buttigieg’s most hypocritical — and blatantly false — claims, he suggested that the Democrat Party is more inclusive than the GOP.
Look, our nation has always been at its best when it widens the circle of belonging and equality to take care of more people and not less, and our nation has been at its worst when we’ve been discriminating.
Really, Pete? DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) is a sick joke with respect to inclusion.
How do Democrats feel about including gay conservatives or black conservatives under their “inclusive” tent? Or conservative women — particularly attractive conservative women? The questions are rhetorical, of course, because we already know the answers.
Moreover, conservative billionaires are to be vilified by the left, while left-wing billionaires like George Soros — and the millions they give to left-wing causes — are to be lauded.
Finally, Colbert, at one point,t lamented:
The Trump Administration has curtailed protections on human rights, especially for the LGBTQ community. He bragged about it tonight. What does that say about where our country is headed morally? Where is the soul of our nation headed?
If you watched Trump’s speech, you know that Trump said zero about curtailing protections of human rights.
As for the soul of our nation and where it’s headed, I got this one.
If Donald Trump and his administration continue to fulfill the promises he made to America, which led to his decisive win in November, the soul of our nation will be healed — after four disastrous years of a president and his team that intentionally tried to destroy America as we know it.
