Kash Patel’s Kicking Some and Taking Some – His Amazing Early Victories

When President Trump re-assumed office in January, one thing that became very apparent very quickly was that he was, as the saying goes, “putting a team together.” Many of his choices have been outstanding. His choice for Director of the FBI, though, was a real win.

Kash Patel, we should note, only took the oath to serve as Director of the FBI on February 21st. That’s a little over a month in this office, and already his list of successes is remarkable.

Kash Patel has spent his first month as FBI director cracking down on some of the Trump administration’s top law enforcement priorities, including violent crime, gang activity and drug trafficking – all while managing to avoid much of the high-profile controversy that has embroiled some other senior national security officials.

His early moves have earned him accolades from Republicans in Congress, who have been quick to praise Patel’s first weeks in office, including his effort to move quickly and share certain documents long requested by majorities on the House and Senate Judiciary Committees.

“Under the leadership of Attorney General Pam Bondi, the Bureau is working aggressively each and every day to find violent criminals, no matter where they are, and bring them to justice,” Patel told Fox News Digital in reflection on his first few weeks heading up the bureau.

The Fox News Digital interview goes on to present Director Patel’s five biggest victories:

  1. Arrest of the top MS-13 leader in the United States, Henrry Josue Villatoro Santos.
  2. Arrest of three fugitives on the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted list – that’s almost a third of the list nailed at a stroke.
  3. A successful raid and arrest of 22 members of a drug trafficking operation run by suspected violent drug cartel members in Lubbock, Texas.
  4. Arrests of Tesla vandals and terrorist attackers.
  5. Disruption of a major cryptocurrency scheme reportedly laundering money to support Hamas.

These are major wins, especially the first two.

The FBI has been an agency plagued with charges of political favoritism and corruption. Since Director Patel took over that troubled agency, things seem to have changed a great deal very quickly, indicating that plenty of the FBI’s rank and file would rather be out there being cops, than being political operatives. And they are doing a great job of it, so far.

There is still a lot to be done to restore the public’s trust in the FBI. The previous administration did not place a high priority on law enforcement, and now we see the price for that – as well as the benefits a change in leadership and priorities can make. Just look at what the FBI under Director Patel has accomplished in a little over a month, and contemplate what they may achieve in the next four years.

An FBI spokesman, Ben Williamson, told Fox News Digital:

“Director Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino have built an extremely formidable FBI team committed to delivering on the promises of building public trust, engaging with congressional partners to increase transparency, and pursuing violent criminals in every corner of the earth,” Williamson said.

“We’re just getting started.”
