Vice President JD Vance’s office shut down legacy media reports, about a supposed meeting involving him and top officials in President Donald Trump’s administration, to allegedly discuss a strategy about the Jeffrey Epstein case, blasting it as “pure fiction.”

On Wednesday, reports surfaced from the likes of CNN, ABC News, NBC News, and more, with one headline that read “Top Trump officials will discuss Epstein strategy at Wednesday dinner hosted by Vance,” from CNN.

The CNN report read:

Top Trump administration officials will gather at the vice president’s residence Wednesday evening as they continue to weigh whether to publish an audio recording and transcript of Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche’s recent conversation with Jeffrey Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.

ABC News wrote, “Vance expected to host Epstein strategy dinner with Bondi, Blanche, Patel.”

While an NBC News headline read, “Live updates: JD Vance, Pam Bondi and other Trump officials to discuss Jeffrey Epstein case.”

However, The Daily Wire’s White House correspondent Mary Margaret Olohan posted on X a statement from Vance’s Communications Director William Martin, who said no such meeting was happening.

“NEW: Vice President Vance’s office flatly denies this reporting,” Olohan’s post read. “@VPCommsDir: “The CNN story is pure fiction. There was never a supposed meeting scheduled at the Vice President’s residence to discuss Epstein Strategy.”

Bill and Hillary Clinton Just Got Slapped With Subpoenas for Testimony Regarding Jeffrey Epstein

Olohan’s post came in response to one from White House CNN reporter Alayna Treene. In the post, Treene alleged that, “NEW: White House chief Susie Wiles, JD Vance, AG Pam Bondi, FBI Dir Kash Patel & Deputy AG Todd Blanche are expected to meet Wed evening at Vance’s residence to discuss the Trump admin’s strategy relating to Epstein case. More w/ the team.”

The alleged meeting headlines followed a report on Tuesday that the House Oversight Committee has issued subpoenas for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former President Bill Clinton, and a host of other high-profile Democrats to provide testimony about Epstein, according to RedState.

As my RedState colleague Rusty Weiss reported:

The Clintons are scheduled for deposition in the first half of October, according to Comer’s X account. The DOJ has until August 19th to turn in the requested records.

The move comes just weeks after the House Oversight Committee voted to issue subpoenas for documents and testimony related to Epstein and his close confidante, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Epstein, the late financier, was convicted of procuring for prostitution a girl below the age of 18 in 2008 and was facing sex trafficking charges until he died, according to authorities, by suicide in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019. Maxwell is currently serving 20 years in prison for her involvement in the late billionaire pedophile’s crimes.
