Since the shocking attempted assassination of Former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13th, emotions are still running high as the nation takes a look back at the event and how it all transpired. As the Nation takes stock of what happened and why, a far-left political streamer took to X, to debate conservatives on Trump, January 6th and of course, the assassination attempt on Trump’s life. And by debate, it was really just a one-sided disrespectful rant against all things Trump and conservatives.
Steven Kenneth Bonnell II, also known as “Destiny,” set up a “Space” on X and debated 10 conservatives, including Lauren Southern on the events of January 6th, 2021. During this “debate,” the conversation eventually bled over to the events of this past Saturday, where Bonnell mocked the victim who was killed at the event. Corey Comperatore, who was a retired firefighter of 20 years, was killed as he attempted to shield his daughter from the gunfire. But because Comperatore was at a Trump rally and “supporting an insurrectionist,” he was not worthy of any sympathy, rather he was only worthy of ridicule and hate.
In the video, Bonnell, who is known for being extremely vile and abrasive, made these disgusting comments about Comperatore, they are NSFW.
Bonnell’s take is by far one of the more disgusting and tasteless takes on the events of the past Saturday and also highlights the very dangerous situation we currently find ourselves in. Not since the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan on March 30, 1981, have we as a nation been faced with an event such as this. If we want to be specific, an assassination or attempted assassination of a Presidential candidate hasn’t occurred since Robert Kennedy was shot and killed in 1968. Bonnell took this opportunity to not just denigrate an innocent man who was killed in the ultimate act of love and devotion. but laugh about it. Bonnell doubled down on this by saying that he would laugh and make fun of anyone who gets killed who supports Trump.
Bonnell originally made his name as a “professional” video game streamer back in 2011 and transitioned to streaming abrasive and shock-jock-style political debates with anyone who wanted to debate him on any issue that he deemed worthy of covering in 2016. He is just a microscopic example of the hateful vitriol that has and is coming out of the left since Donald Trump stepped onto the political stage when he ran for President in 2016. Some, myself included, wonder, with all the hateful commentary by pundits and politicians alike, how it took so long for someone to violently act out on Trump as the shooter did on Saturday, narrowly missing Trump’s head by mere centimeters.
The rhetoric and statements from the left have gotten significantly worse over the past year, as the election cycle ramps up. President Biden, or at least whoever is controlling Biden at this point, is leading the attacks with very carefully worded attacks against Trump and his policies. Biden, along with his Cabinet members and political supporters have all parroted the same line, calling Trump a “threat” to democracy and more. It was just seven days ago on July 8th, when President Biden told some of his donors in a phone call that it was time to put Trump in the “crosshairs.”
It should be noted that the left lost their collective minds when then Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin released a campaign ad on Facebook that identified certain congressional districts that were up for election that year, including former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords’s district, and used little crosshair symbols to mark them on the map. Some, including Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, blamed Palin for the shooting of Giffords, who is his wife. However, he is strangely quiet and not blaming Biden for using the same rhetoric for Trump.
It is not out of the realm of possibility for a person to be radicalized, or at the very least strongly motivated to take violent action against Trump or a supporter of his, when President Biden and anyone else who hates Trump label him a “threat to democracy.” I mean, when I view something as a threat, I am apt to consider taking action to protect myself and or my family against that perceived threat. President Biden has taken these attacks too far and he knows it, it doesn’t take long for a weak-minded person to heed Biden’s advice.
So when the small-minded and feeble streamer known as “Destiny” mocks the death of an innocent man because he supports Trump, the blame must go to the man who says Trump is a “threat,” and that is President Joesph Biden. Words do indeed have consequences, Mr. President, a man is dead because of it, and another “man” is laughing about it.
